Our
Story
nothing special, just passionate
Even when the idea of creating a cleaning company became the only thing that my dreams were filled with, I still ignored my desire to serve. However, my dream followed me into my morning and continued to occupy my thoughts even as the day ended.
I caught myself writing my thoughts on scraps of paper. What I had learned, what I had noticed, what I knew I could do better. After collecting a pile of discarded thoughts on bits of paper in my work locker, I realized that my desire to serve and to create was what drove my mind day to day, a desire that was not being fully fulfilled.
By December of 2018, I had collected months of thoughts and had made more and more sense of what I had wanted to accomplish. The goal that had become clear was to make Cheyenne look and feel the best that I could make it. The time had come to allow my cleaning company to become a reality!
After saving money and building a plan, I established Service, Managment, and Janitorial (SMJ Custodial Services) on Tuesday March 19th of 2019.
Despite the ravages and turbulence caused by Covid 19, SMJ Custodial Services was open to accept clients by the end of March! As a small company that was not quite sure what direction we would head in, we started as a Commercial cleaning company with Residential Lawn care as an additional option for our clients at the time.
We learned so much from the years we operated under duress and pressures from the Pandemic. I saw fellow entrepreneurs that I had called friends build, grow and fail. Some of those friends found success right here in Cheyenne, but most others failed and lost the desire to chase entrepreneurial dreams again. We still operate today, even when some of our close friends have given in to defeat. We found a passion that motivates us; We found what drives us is not cleaning stuffy office buildings where no soul could appreciate our work. What I found during this time was that our efforts could suit our goal much better if we focused on making the homes of Cheyenne look and feel the best we can.
For half a decade, we have focused on creating a brand that is not only trustworthy but accomplishes what we say we will do. Your home is our focus and your satisfaction in our work brings absolute joy to us. We are confident in saying that when we clean your home, you will feel the difference.
